Leonie von Puttkamer
About me
My name is Leonie. I am a German artist, and flowers have fascinated me for as long as I can remember. They are a constant source of inspiration - delicate, expressive, and deeply symbolic. When I move through the world, my focus naturally falls on colors and shapes. I see the beauty in the details: the curve of a petal, the subtle shift of light on a surface, the contrast between natural forms and the space around them.
My artistic process begins with observation and emotional connection. Flowers are not just subjects to me. They are reflections of time, feeling, and transformation. Their colors speak in ways words cannot. In my paintings, I try to capture this unique tension between presence and impermanence and personal experiences.
I am an artist who works primarily with acrylic paint on canvas. My passion lies in exploring the beauty and symbolism of flowers and vases. Through my long-term project “100 Vases,” I aim to capture both the fleeting nature and the enduring allure of flowers.

100 vases
At the heart of my work is the vase - a powerful symbol of abundance, richness, and femininity. It serves as a vessel not only for flowers, but also for emotions, memories, and the essence of life itself.
Together, the vase and the flowers represent the cycle of life - blooming, thriving, fading, and renewing. With each painting, I try to express this rhythm of existence and celebrate the quiet poetry found in everyday beauty.
This vase marked the beginning of my journey of 100 vases. You could call this painting vase number 0. It inspired my first works and will always remain a special piece for me.
